What we do
Who are we? We are a relatively new, independent publisher, and our goals are simple: to
publish and promote quality children's and middle grade books. We want young readers (and
their parents, of course) to laugh as they learn.

Are we serious? Very. And as a serious, responsible publisher who is also a conscientious
member of the literary community, we will donate a portion of the proceeds of all book sales to
nonprofit organizations that provide books to economically disadvantaged children.

Why Blue Marlin? No, we are not fisherpeople. And the books we publish are not about
fisherpeople. Our name is in honor of the main character of one of our favorite books, The Old
Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway. And, if that's not enough, the blue marlin makes a great
logo.

Our business history
Blue Marlin Publications was established in January 1999. We are a family owned and
operated business. We put our reputation behind each book we publish.

About our family
We were founded by Francine Poppo Rich. Francine pursued successful careers as a college professor and
corporate communications consultant before turning her attention to the more-than-full-time business of raising
children. She is enjoying her role as publisher of Blue Marlin Publications and loves the expressions on her sons'
and daughter's faces when she reads her stories to them. She continues to write PeeWee Pipes Adventures and
other stories and recently completed a young adult novel.

What makes us unique
We believe in publishing quality children's books, with learning in mind. All of our books look to teach our
readers a simple lesson. And that lesson differs by book.

Our reviewers (children of all ages) scrutinize every book to ensure that other children will thoroughly enjoy
them.

Our Management Team
All of our employees have two things in common, a love of children, and a devotion to the written word. For more
