The watercolors are just so beautiful in this story that you notice something
new every single time you read it--like the small gold star that twinkles in the
goose's eye or the star-studded sheets on the child's bed. The way the
parent-animals cuddle with their children is soft and soothing, and words begin
to sound like a bedtime melody after a few pages.

This is a very quiet, powerful, and hypnotic way to wind your child down for
sleep. I especially enjoy the way the copy and illustrations work together to
create an invitation for the reader to sit very closely (if not lie down) with the
child.
