A note from the publisher:
Blue Marlin is currently receiving about 10 manuscripts per week. I personally read each one of
these submissions in the order that they are received; therefore, it may take me several (3 - 9)
months to respond to your submission. I read each submission in its entirety, out of respect for
your efforts. Please do not call us to check on the status of your submission. I will not return
these types of calls, as they distract me from getting through these submissions and contacting
those individuals whose work we are interested in pursuing.

My choice to read entire manuscripts, even those in which I have no interest, is extremely time
consuming and does not generate revenue for my very small company. Please respect and
appreciate it.

Submissions:
We publish two books per year and are accepting submissions in the following areas:
1. Children's Picture Books
2. Middle Grade Novels

We are not accepting submissions:
1. For picture books about dogs or cats. As a very small publisher, I just can't successfully
market topics that have been saturated by the bigger publishers.
2. That employ anthropomorphism, or stories written in verse, even if the stories are well written.
3. With Holiday Themes.
